The Opportunity

If you trained to first assist and want to keep doing it — not occasionally, but as a core part of your week — this role is built that way. You'll scrub in alongside the Chief of Surgery and the vascular and oncology surgeons, then follow those same patients through pre-op workup, post-op recovery, and clinic.

Base salary runs $125,000 to $135,000, with a sign-on bonus, student loan repayment support, and relocation assistance for PAs coming from outside the area.

What Your Week Looks Like

• First assisting in the OR on vascular and oncology procedures
• Conducting pre-operative evaluations and preparing patients for surgery
• Managing post-operative follow-up care and recovery progress
• Carrying clinic responsibilities and ongoing patient management
• Rounding on inpatients as needed
• Communicating with referring physicians and primary care providers to keep continuity intact

You'll move between the OR, the clinic, and the floor — working directly with the surgeons rather than in a separate service line.

What We're Looking For

• Current New York State Physician Assistant license
• NCCPA national certification
• Valid DEA license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Comfort operating in both surgical and outpatient clinical settings
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the communication ability to coordinate care across referring providers

Surgical first assist experience is a natural fit, but the client is open on years of experience.
